Anyone ever change out a rear axle seal?
How hard was it?

Have you checked with your dealer to see if its under warranty? (or is it too old)

His sig says is an '04...doubt it would be under any warranty.

I had mine done on my 04 2810 They charged me 400 bucks , There is a good video on the internet from someone doing it on a 2810 .It looked pretty involved but someone with decent skiils could do it, It was some yrs ago i saw the video , it might be in the archives on here,

Yes is a 2004
Looking at the parts manual the axle has a nut inside the axle housing which would require removal (after removing the BH subframe) brakes would need to be disconnected also
Looks like a major job

I changed out both of my rear axel seals on my 273. The actual seal changing was not difficult...but... it took some thinking on how to "safely" remove the heavy parts. In my case I needed to remove the ROP assembly and it's heavy/awkward! Then my fluid filled tires and how to remount them, then. I have service and parts manuals so that was a big help in figuring out how it comes apart and it's just reverse that to put it back together. You have a BH so there are some very heavy parts to remove. Doable, just be careful and plan for the heavy stuff. Good luck if you do decide to tackle this yourself.

Yes heavy parts, the BH subframe is 3/4 steel from back to front
I would possibly need a transmission Jack to remove the axle housing, looks like it could be 200 lbs or so
