I finally have my Woods Backhoe mounted to the subframe of my 4120 (I need to get photos up). I have the Power Beyond kit installed. The dealer says that to hook up the backhoe, I disconnect the jumper hose and leave it loose (not hooked to anything). Then he says to plug one of the hoses into the coupler above the jumper hose and the other couple goes to the smaller right angle coupler on the side. That just does not make sense to me. Can someone tell me how their backhoe lines are connected?

Scott,
He is right.. the reason for that is the return hose,
that you will connect down by the axle, gives the
backhoe an unrestricted flow back to the sump. The
circuit that is connected when your jumper hose is
plugged in is for the rockshaft. This procedure then also
takes the rockshaft control out of the picture, which for
the Deere backhoe is necessary because the rockshaft
is used to lift the backhoe up into place and then not needed
until removal of the backhoe.
does that make sense?

Yep, it does now. I went and tried it and it worked fine. I will just bag up the free end of the jumper hose until I need it again. Now to test the subframe.

Thanks Dutch

My bad. It is an old, big cat II Kelly backhoe off my Dad's 4020. I built a subframe over the last couple of months. I tested it yesterday and dug 5 very large stumps out of the ground! Plenty of pressure and the frame seems to take the load very well. Of course I needed a FEL bucket full of dirt to offset the weight. I will take a photo of the combo today. Now that I know it works, I am going to pull the frame back off, clean it up and paint it. I will post photos then too.
