419 vs. 300? Dealers pullin\' one on me?

Incase you didn't read the earlier post- The dealer just called, we were going over finals and he says he doesn't have the neww 300 fel available. Now says price he gave was for the 419! should I be worried about the dealer and how much better is the new loader? I think when I go to resell in 5 years or so this could make a big difference.

Have you checked the Deere site and their configurator to see which loader is compatible with the 790?

first blush, I don't think that I would worry about it, I bet 790 owners might prefer the boxy design on that machine...

The biggest deal would be losing the rifle barrel grease zerks...

the 419 seems to be last years model, most made after 11/04 have the 300. it looks to have a 300lb more lift capacity.

OK, I'm confused here. I re-read your other post on this subject....and this is the first time I've seen " <font color="blue"> think when I go to resell in 5 years or so </font> Why even buy the tractor in the first place if your going to sell it of so soon.....just rent one and get your projects done.

I love my 790 but I don't call them the best bang for the buck if it's bought for resell so soon, don't get me wrong there a great little simple tractor but there kind of like a dime a dozen and to sell it after 5 years when someone can buy it in the first place so cheaply...well I guess calling it cheaply priced is not maybe the right term...but you get the picture

I've looked for a used one and have only found 1 local (within 500 miles) for about what new costs. Also, most likely I won't sell, but let's not let the wife know for now! Thanks.

Well I'll be...

Just checked w/ Deere myself and sure enough, the 300 is the loader spec'd for the 790. See what happens when you're out of the tractor buying market for so long. Now my loader is TWO generations old!

Yep the 300 is the replacement for the 419...and there was a post about a week or two ago on the section...do a search and the fellow with the info reposted the spec's off the JD site I think it's gut just a little more backside and lifts a little higher....If I remember right

well? honest mistake by the dealer or should I look elsewhere? Anyone with a 419 or 300 out there that thinks loosing the deal is worth it? I have another dealer a little farther away that says he can do the 300 for $200 more. Is it worth it? Sorry for all the questions, but I want to get this right the first time without regrets later so all the help is greatly appreciated.
