Ok, I went and looked at this today. It is all working, I believe it is just that the lever for the 3 point is not moving smoothly. It is quite sticky. And I think if it is not fixed that it will all get bent and mangled up.
So How do I fix that? It is sticking at the valve. I saw ont entry on a stuck valve, is that what needs to be done? Or just buy a valve, and install it?

Part of me just wants to tell him to take it into JD.

There is a friction disk that is adjustable. Look at the control lever going to the rockshaft valve and should be able to see the bolt that needs to be loosened a tad bit.

I believe it is the locknut on the other end of that shaft where the control lever is attached (right side). There are some belleville washers that create the friction depending how tight that locknut is torqued down. Back that locknut off a bit and see if that control lever moves more freely. I may have mis-spoken when calling it a "friction disk" in previous post.

Otherwise, from the pic shown, looks to be a lot of cleaning that could be done... but wouldn't think that debris would cause the problem.

the debris does not interfere with the movement of the rod. It is hanging up on the end in my photo. I will try to remove the lever, and loosen the nut a little, and see if that fixes it.

There are about 8 pages of "Rockshaft control disassembly and assembly" in the service tech manual for the 4200.

First try just loosening the locknut, without removing the lever. See if that frees it up.

I assume that I can fit a socket down the tube of the handle to loosen the nut? probably less than 1/2 turn. Also the other level that has the roll pin in it, What is it called? as the roll pin is broken and I need him to go get a replacement.
Thanks again for the help

We are on the wrong page, and apparently talking about two different things. Sorry if I have been leading you off track.
