4200 JD

My 4200 starts and runs great on high throttle, but when l lower throttle it dies and will not restart. any suggestions.

I would begin by changing the fuel filter and make sure a good supply of fuel is making it to the filter.

Do you get any smoke when it dies out at low throttle? If it is starting good, then it is probably not compression related. If it was fuel starvation, it probably wouldn't run well at high throttle but not low. I am thinking perhaps bad injectors, or some fuel contamination. How many hours? Did this start suddenly or has it been progressing for while?
