4210 Enough ?

I know that I'm a real newbie here, but I just purchased a 4110 for my 7 acres and it's a heck of a machine. Seems like your tasks are similar to mine. Yeah, if you're sure that you will be getting a backhoe, you might want a larger machine, but for the rest, the 4110 will do it all and save you thousands.

I have a back hoe(46) on my 4110 and am quite pleased with it. I wouldn't dig a house foundation, but for around the homestead chores, it works great. The 4115 will move the BH a little faster perhaps as I think it has a little more hydro GPM. I'm not sure which model you need to get the 47 BH which is a little larger.

I had a 4200 (same Engine) When using a 59 inch snowblower it was under powed. THe 4300 handles it great. Blows the snow 30 feet. Also I have a TracVac PTO grass catcher. The 4200 did not do well on my hills. The 4300 goes great.

Just my thoughts go for 4310 if you can. my was only $650 more.

I've had my 4210 since Feb 04 (65 hrs). I am very pleased with it. My property is almost similar to yours (5 acres, cut 3 1/2, and the rest I occassionaly cut down. I also have many large heavy boulders since I live in gravel country. The 420 loader has a capacity of 1,000 lbs, these rocks on average are about 300-500 lbs with some much larger but I push those. I just got thru moving 180 yds of fill dirt and doing a lot of grading. The machine does everything I need to do and there was not an instance where I wanted or needed more power. I also run a 6' finish mower and I now wish I had purchased a 7' because I really think it would have handled it. I've also used a 450 lb box blade to do a lot of grading recently and by using 4wd i was able to scrape a lot of dirt. The only time it got to be too much to pull was when I got greedy and set the depth of the teeth too deep. I am happy with my choice and compared to my old 750 this thing is like a Cadillac. I don't know what all the attachments cost you are thinking about but I paid $17,000 w/o tax for the 4210 with 420 loader and a 6' Frontier blade and loaded tires (R4). Whichever choice you make I think you would be happy with.

Thanks again guys. I think as far as hp goes on the 4210, didnt they increase it by 2 over the old 4200? As far as pto hp, do you guys think a 4210 would run an lx5 cutter ok ? basically my first pass will be cutting the high weeds then from there just maintaining. How about a 12" posthole digger? the soil in my area isnt bad. Any thoughts would help. Thanks Mike
