42300 and pull start but it won't start any other way

Have a 1970s Ford 2300 last year the diesel injector pump was replaced this year it wouldn't start I replaced the injectors they're squirting it turns over but won't start I can pull start it but that is the only way I've been able to successfully start it this year will not even start with either any suggestions?

A guess, your system has a small air leak in it. Enough not getting steady supply of fuel. Pulling it will spin the engine faster than the starter.

A question, no experience with a diesel from that time. The fuel cut off, is it electric or pull knob to kill the engine. Could there be an issue with the fuel cut off not opening up as it should?

Have u lined up the timing line on the pump with the “0*” mark on the block.?

Check for dirt in the air filter and ensure you have a clear air path into the intake manifold. It's possible your starter is tired and no longer spinning the engine as fast as it should.

If it has low compression would that not be a symptom? Just wondering
