4300 hydraulics weak at first after setting for a few days

"Cold" oil can collapse a bad suction hose. But you'll usually hear some noise from the pump caveating. I had to replace the 1" suction hose on my JD crawler for that reason. It sucked the hose flat as a bad bicycle tube.

I will look for that next time the issue occurs, I've been using the tractor every day so it works just fine. It seems like it actually needs to set for several days before it will have this issue. Overnight doesn't do it.

Will the three point hitch lift an implement when this happens?

I only had a quick tatch and a trailer ball adapter on but it lifted all of that quickly without any issue.

Manifold not collapsing and has no cracks. I'm at a loss here.

It seems like if I tilt down and raise the loader arms all the way at the same time a couple of times so all the cylinders are extended then bounce the loader arms it will remedy it till the next shut down. It goes from being slow and soft to working perfectly instantly when it does it, it's just random.

Also seems to be getting wore, possibly due to warmer weather.

I still don't think it could be the pump loosing prime or sucking air. There is no noise and all the other hydraulics work fine.

Any other thoughts?

It's doing it less and recovering quicker now that the weather is cooler.

Okay I put the loader on for the first time in a while, been using the blower mostly. The first day it was on it worked great, no issue. Today I went to use it and is permanently weak. I believe however that it is the lift cylinders on the loader.
three reasons:

1) tractor doesn't bog as much when trying to lift the front end or lift a heavy load using the loader cylinders as it does when hitting the curl stops or using the 3rd scv with closed couplers. I think the only time the hydros are weak are during lift cylinder use.

2) No pressure on retract side of lift cylinders while lifting loader (can swivel QD), as soon as control valve is released however there is pressure in it unless it is lifted all the way up to the cylinder stops. With the loader all the way up to the stops the motor lugs more like it should and there isn't pressure in the retract side with hand off the control stick.

3) trying to lower the loader far enough to lift the front of the tractor, fluid comes out of the extend side of the cylinders FAST.

Based on this testing, I'm thinking my problem is a loader cylinder which is/was popping in and out of place. Will get the SN to the dealer in the morning to find a couple seal kits. Might as well do them both I guess.

Make sense?
