Tires 4300 w/mmm and R4 tires

I have a 4300 with 60" mid mount mower, 420 FEL, and R4 tires. The tractor is going to the shop in a few weeks and I want the dealer to change the tires from the narrow to the wide position. The dealer says there may a clearance problem with the mower if the tires are set to wide. Does any body have this configuration on their Deere?

If you have the same R-4 rims I have on my 4300, the wide position is only 1.5 inches wider than the narrow. Maybe the later (newer) rims are different. That info is in the manual too.

The owner/operator book that I have for my 4310 shows about 8 different rear wheel configurations however there is only the option of reversing the rims as they are one piece rims. Not at all as shown in the book! If I reverse the front wheels they would be wider than the rear. I would think that would be a lot of stress up there if a FEL was in use.

There are several different rims for the tractor, whether Ag tires, or R-4's or landscape. The different rear wheel combinations are including the 3 (at least) different rims as I understand it. Only the two with the R-4 rim as Anon points out.

Those 8 different configurations are for the bolted rims...pretty sure they're only for the R-1 tires.
I saw the same thing and got all excited...then realized my turfs had welded rims.

For tobintm:
Get a straight edge and tape measurer and check the offset between the rim and hub of one of your rear wheel. If you have the same wheels as Anonymous Poster, there will be a .75" difference between inside and outside (equalling a total of 1.5 inch width increase).
When I turned my wheels (turfs just get turned, not swapped side to side), I got an easy 4" more width. I knew I had more then 3" when I rough measured my hubs. In my case, I did the widening for snow chains clearance.
As far as interference with your MMM...that could be a problem.

Not the same set up as yours (JD 3320 / R3 / 72" MMM), however, I am able to run with the rear tires set wide. It is the front tires that hit the MMM on sharp turns if set wide. May work the same for you.
