Remember you need to subtract the weight of the trailer from the 7k figure. A 7k unit my be just on the edge of safely handling it, but I would recommend a 10k 18' trailer to be sure you have a safety margin and a little room to move the tractor to find the best weight distribution. E-brakes on both axles also...

NO. That sounds like a lightweight 7k GVW trailer. I would bet that tractor is 5500 lbs with FEL/BH. If you fill your rear tires add 500 lbs.
You want a 10k GVW and 18-20' if possible (as mentioned earlier). More is better here but use caution as the trailers in the 10-12k range get heavy. Then you need to worry about your prime mover (SUV/pickup).

I own a JD4300 w/Front Loader and Backhoe, it has hydrostat trans, and industrial tires. Rear tires are loaded. It tips the scale at just about 5,000 lbs. I have thought about buying a dump trailer to both haul the tractor, and also use it for gravel or dirt. I think it would be very handy. I have looked at a few different makes and have noticed a huge difference in quality. Before I purchase, I would look long and hard to make sure you get a good one and also one with the wheels on the outside of the dump box so that it has a lower profile for easier loading. Also the trailer should have the D-rings built into the bed for easy tie down of the tractor. If anyone does this already any experience would be appreciated.

It should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway, any trailer this size need functioning brakes. I can't think of many things less fun than being passed by your own tractor on its trailer. The value of being able to stop with the tow vehicle and trailer in a straight line is priceless.

Thanks all for your responses. Well I ended up getting a new trailer. I was looking at all the used ones out there and wasn't sure if they would meet all the WA state requirements and if something might be wrong with it. Its a Fab Form with 4 wheel brakes and LED lights 5,590 capacity. I will weight up everything soon and post results.
