On the Deere site, they have the following options for R4 tires for the 4310/4410 tractors.

Code 4515 ($200 List Price):
25x8.5-14 / 6PR / Front R4 Ind. 1 Pos. / Bias
15-19.5 / 6PR / Rear R4 Ind. 1 Pos. / Bias

Code 4575 ($450 List Price):
27x8.5-15 / 6PR / Front R4 Ind. 1 Pos. / Bias
43x16-20 / 4PR / Rear R4 Ind. 1 Pos. / Bias

Can someone tell me what the differences are between these two R4 tires? Which one is more common? etc.

Thank You.

MJB,

Thanks for the link, it was very helpful.

After 4 months of usage, how do you like them? Any other clearance problems? I wonder if I would have problems with a 72" MMM? Would you recommend them for someone getting a new JD tractor for the extra $250?

I still like the new tires. I have quite a bit of soft ground on my land that the increased flotation of the larger tires helps with. I think the increased ground clearance is also at least as important since it allows me to raise the mower deck higher to keep it clear of the ground when the tires sink into the mud. The rear tire flotation seems good but the fronts still sinks in more than I would like. I see that Gemplers has R-4s in a 27x10.5-15 size that would be two inches wider than the front R-4s I have but I am pretty sure the right front tire would hit the front gage wheel on the mower deck if the tire was that much wider. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I think the wider fronts might fit if I had the 72" deck. I also had to make an adjustment to the steps on my 48 hoe to clear the larger R-4s. This was not a big deal since I didn't use the steps to get on and off anyway. Your dealer should be able to tell you if the larger R-4s are compatible with the 72" mid-mower on the 10 series tractors. I suspect that they are. Would I buy them again? You bet.
