My 4310 is about 1 1/2 years old. Dash started fogging after about 20 hrs. Dealer replaced the glass with anti-fog kit. Still fogged when tractor was hot. Dealer replaced the whole dash console and glass. Still fogged when tractor was hot. Waited till this year. Dealer replaced the whole dash console and glass again. Still fogged when tractor was hot. Surely Deere could come up with a fix for this? My thought is that when the tractor gets hot the heat from the engine blows back against the back of the console and heats the air between the console and the glass. Well if the air inside the console is warmer than the outside you get fogging. My dash gets very hot to the touch if I have been mowing with it at rated RPMs on a hot summer day. Just my 2 cents worth. I would think this would be an easy fix for Deere. Maybe an insulation kit for the back of the console? Wouldn't it be a safety issue if you couldn't see the gauges. Surely it wouldn't take a injury law suit to push them to resolve this /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. Hey john deere is the greatest tractor on earth /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Maybe they will fix it.

There has been a few threads on this and from what I remember most were fixed at no cost. I don't have any problem with mine (also 1-1/2 years old) but I wonder why some tractors have this problem and some don't. Good luck.

If JD is "the greatest tractor on earth", why doesn't my Kubota dash fog??

It may be great, but not on this earth.

Suggestion:

Buy a Kubota, "greatest tractor in Japan". Take the JD to Home Depot and let them sell it to someone else. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Opinions are like "you know what's" everyone has one and mine is "John Deere is the greatest tractor on earth" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif - even with the dash fogging.
I like Kubota's and have a lot of experince with them. I worked on a farm where they had a 70hp unit w/loader for farming and a smaller unit w/loader that we used to mow the grass with and clean out stalls. Great machines and had very few problems with either unit.
Sorry to get off the original purpose of the post which was to inform everyone what fixes didn't work for me concerning the dash fogging.

I heard rumor that WalMart was going to be doing the warranty work for JD. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Guess I didn't pay for the option of a fogging dash on my blue tractor. I didn't get one /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just teasing everyone

Actually, I am teasing too. All brands are good. It is just waht the buyer decides on.

I own a JD too. It's not a CUT though.

thatz because jd doesn't think u need 2 be looking at ur guage u don't need 2 worry with guages its so reliable.. (lol) anywayz the possible fix is putting a vent in the guage pods by drilling a very very small hole in top of guage cluster to allow moisture and temp. differentials to equal out. Check out the FAQ on CUTs too on jd website maybe useful.

or u could go get a orange tractor thatz a good idea /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Fogging on my 4310 started May 22nd for the first time
with 136 hours on it. Rarely do I run my 4310 at full
throttle for a long time except today I did some
"bush hogging" with the 413 rotary mower for about 90
minutes. About 10 minutes before I finished, the fogging
appeared. So your theory about fogging when the
engine is hot appears to be "spot on"

Yeah, my 01 4300 had the same problem. When I would cut grass at about 2300 RPMs the dash would always fog up. I never got it fixed but it did kind of bug me.
