Tractor
Deere 4310
I bought a new 4310 Back in March.
I mainly mow and it takes about 4 hours.
I do have the fogging problem on the dash.
The problem is that after mowing about 2 hours the fan air starts burning my foot.
Are there any fixes?

Kevlar Boots... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif This is a first - I've used mine for many many hours at a time and I've never experienced a hot foot. All kidding aside - Do you ever use the cruise control while you're using the tractor? I forgot about it for my first month or two of owning/using - but once I rediscovered it I find it very useful for longer hauls back and forth between my fill pile. It gives my foot a break from the pedals, and I would think in your case maybe a little relief from the heat.

Are you sure its air? Could it be hot oil? Have you checked all your screens and filters? Get to the bottem of this, as it could be one of those plugged, and improper service can void the warranty...

I had the same experience on my 4200 when mowing without cruise control for long periods. The solution for me was to use the cruise. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I do a lot of daytime mowing on my 4210 when it gets into the mid 80's and I have never noticed a "hot foot" problem, but I do use the cruise control for much of the mowing jobs. Since my yard is rather rough using the cruise also keeps my foot from bouncing around on the hydro pedal.

After every mowing job, I reverse up to the barn overhead door, raise the hood and remove the side panels while letting the engine cool down at idle. I take a few minutes to use my electric blower to clear off the grass clippings and weed chaff, I also slide out the radiator screen and blow it off along with any debris that may be on the radiator itself. Since JD recommends running at idle for a few minutes after sustained use, this is the ideal way for me to spend the time. Of course, the electric blower has a tag on it that says:

"FOLD THE ROPS" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Even in the hottest weather my temp gauge never goes over a quarter of the scale, I am wondering if that 4310 is overheating....

Do you have a picture of that?

I've never seen an electric blower with a ROPS!! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My 4300 gear drive did this to me also. Except my left foot would get hit by the hot air.

LOL LOL Golfgar, that is one of the funniest posts I have ever read here on TBN.... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I should have stated I put the tag on the blower to remind me to fold the ROPS on the TRACTOR....!!!

4210 when using the rear pto the whole back end of the tractor gets hot. all the heat goes directly to the plastic and rubber mat. you can't keep your feet on the platform for very long time.jd dealer said it is a hardship on the pto try using it on a cool day. syncshift b-range first gear at 2500 rpm it was a cloudy day 80 grass was dry brown easy to cut.hot hot

I would explain all that to the dealer, and if he doesn't think it should be looked at, ask another one. Heat like that can't be all that good...
