( It is too much trouble to put on and off for loader work,
Brent )

Brent,
If you had the 60" mower, would you need to take the MMM off to do loader work? I would think it wouldn't get in the way as much, or is there some other reason you take it off.

Sorry, If I mess up this color markup business... never tried
it before.

You have to be real careful when cutting below grade or the width of the belly mower hits the side walls, and I think that would damage the mower. Also, I can't drop the wheels down into the trench for extra depth because belly mower would hang up. I must say that a tractor with belly mower is the smoothest ride one could hope for! The walker mower I ran just about shook me to death if I tried to get anywhere close to it's capacity.

I had the 60'' 7 Iron deck on my old 4300 and it cut great. We also have a 970 with a 72'' deck and that cuts good but not as good as the 60''. The 60'' will be a 7 Iron deck(7 gauge steel) and I don't belive that the 72'' one is. I think it's the standard 12 gauge. The 72'' deck does not have as much suction and does leave streaks in wet, tall grass. The 60'' does not. The 60'' barely stuck out from the 4300 but I think a 4210 or 4310 is a little under powered for the mower if you are going to be mowing thick grass as I do. The 60'' was a good fit but I traded in on a rear mount 72'' for my 990 to reduce mowing time. Both are very good it's how you plan to use it.

If it was me I would get the 72. In narrow situations often there are trees involved anyway and you will need the reach. If I got two tree trunks 60" apart I wouldn't want to mow between those anyway unless I wanted a face full of branches. I'll take reach any day over narrowness.

Of course I would probably go for the RFM anyway since it's cheaper and easier to take off and put on.

I don't have a problem. The mower extends about 4" beyond the wheels. It could be a problem if you have inside curves. we designed with all outside.
