I am a recent first time tractor byer (4310 e-Hydro). This has been a very nice machine to operate. One of my rubber seals, I've also heard them referred to as "boots", by my left front wheel has a split in it. Is this a common occurrence and should I have it replaced or just make sure it stayes greased well? Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if I need to be more descriptive.

I hope this isn't a frequent occurence. I would definitely change it out. Sand doesn't do good things to bearings and gears.

I have a 4300 and the seal broke 2 years ago so I looked at changing it out and was told I could do it but usually they just fill it full of grease and put some black rubberized (plastic) electrical tape around all of it. Result: it is still holding the grease I filled it with 2 years ago. I do occassionally add some more grease when I think it needs it.
