4310 thoughts at it\'s 50 hr service
I want to review my experience with the 4310 now that it’s in for its 50 hour service.
I’ve seen several discussions relating to the eHydro tranny giving Deere 4x10 owners problems. I just want to say that not only has my eHydro been faultless, the entire tractor has performed some very rough duty in its 1st 50 hours of work – Flawlessly. I have accomplished far more than I anticipated with this “little” tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
My list of items that I’m impressed with continues to grow - Just to name a few - Lift and Hydraulic Capacities, smooth running, very economical, very comfortable operator’s area. I am scratching my head trying to find something to complain about – Oh I’ve got one – make the hydro fluid level easier to check! It’s a bend and stretch to see the window under the tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
One more thing I want to mention – the plastic hood and fenders are tough! I’ve seen some threads discussing the merits of metal vs. plastic. Whatever this material is, it takes a pounding and comes back for more. I’ve been clearing woods, and have taken sharp hits on the sides from limbs bending and snapping back against the tractor. One time I got the thick end of a cut limb caught between the FEL arms and the hood. It finally snapped with such force that if it hit me I would have been in a world of hurt. The hood took it with just a scratch. Another time while pushing my wood pile back a 7” to 8” thick log rolled off the top and onto my hood on it’s way back down to the bottom of the pile. Bad driving on my part – yes, lucky I had the plastic/fiberglass hood – a big yes. Again it only left a scratch – any metal hood would have been very dented from this, and a few of my other “brilliant” moves.
I hope folks considering Deere take a few of these things into mind. The 4x10 series is a solid, dependable, and well thought out series of tractors.
And one more big “Thanks” to the advice from all of you that guided me to it.
