2 of the four have gone through the deer. I take the traditional kill zone shot ( heart/lungs). I was taught that it is all about energy transfer. I would perfer the bullet use all it's energy on the target and not just punch through. I took a look at some of the sample shots with home defence rounds and the high scoring rounds didn't exit the target. Instead it used the energy to destroy everything inside. When I am butchering my deer I do loose some meat because the shock of the round turns the target area into jelly. It does lots of damage. I dislike having to look for deer so the quicker they fall the easier it is for me and the tractor to bring them out.
