You are probobly out signing papers by now, but in case you aren't, and STILL havent made up your mind, allow me to throw in some mud. I spent 4 hours mowing brush in the woods yesterday on a L4610 hydro with a 2560 woods cutter.
I used to cut with a Case IH 255 (24 horse Mitsubishi) and a 503 JD cutter (believe it's the early version of the 513) The tractor was half the size of the Kubota but the mowers are the same width.
I am able (and WILLING) to get into TIGHTER spots with the larger tractor because of the hydro. I can creep alot better with more control. I cut more with less effort. The mower and tractor worked easier because I did not use the clutch.
The 513 JD mower cost half of what I paid for the landpride 2560 ( I just saw the Brushbull, and think I would have bought it had I seen it first, very nice and very stout) BUT the JD was shot after 4 seasons of use. The gear box was alive, but the sheetmetal was toast. I dont think it would have lasted that long on the Kubota with 39 HP.
Coverage- my wheels are just about the same width as the cutter housing, if I were in an open field I would want a wider mower, in the woods, narrower. Since Homer Simpson was mentioned, he once reached his arm into a soda machine and got stuck. 4 hours later the rescue squad gave up trying to extract him. Finally someone said "Let go of the can Homer!" That is somewhat like mowing in tight timber with a wide mower.
