I have an 03 4410 with the 48 BH with 250 hours. When I first got it the rockshaft would not lift the BH high enough to put the pins in. The manual and dealer said to adjust rockshaft position Feedback Linkage. I did that and it solved the issue. It seemed after awhile the backhoe and loader just didn't have the power it did when new. Thought it was just me. Had dealer test pumps under warranty. No issue there.

Just the other day I had a thought. With the BH on, the the rockshaft is held in up position. I started wondering if it was being held up high enough to put hydraulics into partial relief. I was able to get my hand in there and lengthen the rockshaft position rod without taking backhoe off. I used the loader BH a bit. To early to tell but it seemed better. About a month ago I used loader moving a lot of shale. I had to push into the pile back out a bit to get loader to lift it. Kind of got used to that. Well I moved a couple big buckets of damp dirt and it lifted them right up. Going to see how it goes from here. Same thing might happen if one has a 3pt attachment on for weight and has it raised up high and the rockshaft position gives partial relief.

Remember a guy posted here awhile back about a 4410 that he said just didn't have what it used to when new. I could relate to him.

Good point Craig! when the valve is in relief you can definately hear the engine straining, did you hear a change in it? I need to try this...

Shouldn't have any effect. However, after you get the pins in, you're supposed to lower the rockshaft. But, then when you connect the BH hydraulics, you are bypassing the rockshaft control altogether.

But you can lower the rockshaft THEN swap the hoses; I just am not sure if that relief valve is still in the circuit after disconnecting the PB loop hose...

Hadn't thought of that, since I always drop it as soon as I get the pins in. You're right, it depends on where the PR valve is. Maybe all he needs to do is drop the rockshaft after installing the pins.

I was thinking the same. I put rockshaft lever down but the arms stay high. I push down on them but they hit on the BH frame. If relief valve is still active with BH hoses connected there is a chance the rod could have the relief valve partial open. The engine isn't laboring or that I notice it. Just seems something changed with BH and loader power a few months after I bought it. Going to watch it but at this time I don't have the loader and BH work I did a month ago.
