My JD 4410 has a problem engaging the starter when the key is turned .

I believe it has something to do with the neutral switch because I have to move the shifter around and find just the right spot while turning the key to get it to engage the
starter

Outside temperature doesn't make a difference .

I have tried by passing the neutral relay in the fuse block with no results.
the seat switch is already by passed . I would like to total bypass the neutral switch if that is possible .

I am open to any ideas

Bi-passing relay has not effect on the worn neutral switch. You must bi-pass the switch. Having said that,I don't recommend bi-passing any type safety devices unless I know every operator like a brother. There's someone killed or crippled every day as the result of disabled safety devices. Just replace the switch,it might save a life in the future. If neutral switch can't be replaced,bi-pass it but reconnect seat switch to prevent starting from the ground. I KNOW,you never start your tractor from the ground but someone else might. The seat switch is a little help in preventing a child that is climbing on tractor hitting starter.

I think I have found it but it is right up tight to the floor board . I think I will have to remove it to get to it.

Just pull the wire plug and bridge it across the 2 terminals with a piece of wire.
