445 won't start

The camshaft gear is bad. They have plastic teeth. Pull cover and install new cam. It has gone out of time

He said it had the steel cam gear in it.

I would replace the engine just because it hasn't fired unless you have found a major issue. I would of thought it would of fired off if you sprays starting fluid in the spark plug hole though.
