After not a lot of looking, we pulled the trigger on a new 4500P with the "Tuff Cut" deck. I think I'm going to have to arm wrestle the wife in order to get some seat time...

The out-the-door price for a 4500P, Tuff Cut Deck, Front Casters, optional foot pedal, and optional arm rests was right at $26,000.
I did pursue competitive quotes from three dealers. The others were at $30,000 and $28,500 for the exact same machine.

That is scary, I remember a 2020 JD. tractor with a 3 bottom mounted plow was 5200.oo....... Jim

The only real complaint I've had about this process, is that this machine costs more than the last 2 vehicles I bought.
However, considering I've rolled a tractor over in the past (and got pinned under it), and no longer have to mow my hills with a 300 pound walk-behind (man killer) brush hog, it's worth every dime.

Once I find 5 minutes, I'm going to post an initial review of the new machine. 20 hours seat time in 3 days...
In the meantime, we bought a 72" finish mower as well.
Biggest obstacle: the hydraulics have a fairly significant leak that I'm trying to troubleshoot. Unfortunately, it came directly from Ventrac like that....
