Is this a base tractor or is it optioned out and if it is optioned what is included?

How is your tractor configured that is being traded?

So far we don't have much information to go by.

I think 28,000 to 28,600 is a good price for the new tractor 400X and toothbar. So your not off that much. The $3000 for the Ford is fair considering it is in rough shape and will need repairs to make it saleable.

The question would be how do you feel about the 2520 being a wash? Without getting personal do you feel you are coming out with it fair enough?

on the 2520 being a wash yes im ok with it and no im not . if that makes since.
i would like to have gotten more for it but then ive only owned it for 2 yrs so what can you expect . im really more upset that i didnt buy the 4520 in the first place. for what i paid for the 2520 and all the stuff i could have gotten alot more tractor. my advice would be to anyone thinking of a small tractor think long and hard about what you will be doing with it . then go up atleast 2 or 3 sizes from that . dont get me wrong i loved my 2520 and it has done a ton of work to be no bigger than it is . but it was basically always just a little bit to small . it was just enough to make you wont something bigger if you no what i mean . if i had got a 3000 series to start with i would have been fine . thats why im going to the 4520 because its as bigg as i could ever possibly need .

That is why I have a 4520, it is big enough to get some work done, still small enough to trailer and work in landscape jobs. This is my 19th tractor and it is perfect for what I do, after using it for awhile I am satisfied I made a good choice. The same holds true for my 110 tlb as it can share the same implements but is still easy to trailer behind my pickup and service trucks.

I would though strongly recomend that you buy a 4520 cab tractor and not an open station. This could be your next regret, swapping or adding a cab would be costly down the road. I would also buy a good telescopic pole saw to trim limbs with too. If necessary I would use what I have, save the extra coins and then get the 4520 cab with upgrades. Then plan on keeping it for a long time.

If you use the JD website "Build your own", it's around $8K. 'Course the dealer should discount that by 15%-20% - IMO.

The plant is in Georgia for the 4000 series tractors. And it there is ONE place in the country where you can work a good deal on a new JD tractor - it's in the SOUTH!

Best of luck.

Best I can recall with 6 70# front weights, 6 110# rear weights, upgraded cruise and loadmatch, R4 tires, rear wiper, rear work lights, telescopic links, third remote, block heater, e hydro with economy pto and front grill guard for $34,000 +sales tax. Also bought a new tiller, field cultivator and rock rake at additional cost. I worried and agonized over whether to get the cab but after having a cab on the backhoe I knew I wanted it. It is best to make sure you are satisfied and happy with a new purchase and so far it was a smart move.
