( Musa, I sent you an email. Thanks.

Is there any known fix to this or can the linkage be beefed up. It does feel weak, almost as if it wouldn't take much to bend or break it. I am gentle with mine and try to never force it, but I have two John Deere Gators that also have an issue with the linkage and they have broken with little or no pressure. )

Have you been contacted by our service department yet?

I just got a call from my dealer. They are sending a mechanic out today to fix the linkage on the tractor. All it took was one phone call to the salesman that sold me the tractor and he done the rest. No complaints, no arguments. All he told me was the service manager would be contacting me. Next thing I knew they are coming out to fix it.
I will update as to what he had to do and how it works after I talk to him and get home this evening to try it out.

musa_marketing,
Thanks for your support on this. It wasn't even a big concern to me that I was having this probem, but you wouldn't leave it alone until the problem was corrected. Hats off to you, Mahindra, and Singleton Tractor in Franklinton, LA. I'm pleased to do business with people with such commitment as you.

I second that.

Singleton Sales & Service has been very good to me. They are the friendliest tractor dealership I have ever been to......I like how you walk in the door and smell/see a fresh pot of coffee... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.....I especially like Mike and Buddy.

Mr. Mike called me yesterday evening to discuss the problem with my tractor. He said the mechanic did not find anything. The very first models that moved the shifter to the side had trouble with the linkage, but since mine is only a couple of months old it already had the upgrade. He explained that the gears had to stop in order to mesh. This means pushing the clutch in and giving it time to slow down then try to shift. Also, when shifting from 2 to 3 make sure not to use a z-pattern but rather go to neutral then across then into 3rd. He said it will probably just take time to get used to the way it shifts but should be okay. He insisted if I have any more problems to let him know. In short, the extra linkage it took to move the shifter to the side makes it harder to shift and more apt to bend if forced.
I apologized for the trouble and offered to give him money for fuel for the wasted trip, but he wouldn't hear of it. These are truly great people to deal with.
