4540 exhaust

   / 4540 exhaust #11
I ran 6' of flex pipe to the front of the tractor and attached to the small plate that protects the front axle. Since it's the furthest possible point I hoped more of the fumes would disperse before reaching the driver. A short test drive disproved that idea.

Next I'll try routing to the rear of the tractor. That's tricky because there are a lot of moving and protruding parts on the way from the exhaust to the rear behind the driver. And not as many options for securing the pipe. But I think I found a path for a test try.

I ran about 78" of flex pipe from the under-hood exhaust pipe to the back of the tractor as a tailpipe, just proof or disproof of concept.
Since I'm running out of ideas I also got a 3M 7502 half-mask respirator with multi-gas/vapor cartridge P100 filters.

I wonder if anyone sees any problems with this before I try it?

My wife tried this, bush hogging for an hour, and said it works great. Tail pipe makes all the difference.
