455 transaxle leak

I just did a 425 for a friend, his was leaking between the pump and housing. I had to remove the driveshaft from the engine to the transmission, then remote the 4 or 5 bolts and it was the seal/ring that went between the pump and transmission hydraulic pump. It fairly easy, I also worked at a deere dealer for 5 years and learned a lot.

Dustin, did you need to take the casing apart to get at the seal? or can it all be done from the outside?

No, the seal can be removed without doing anything besides taking the pto shaft off. I just used an o-ring pick to pull the old seal out and then turned down a piece of pipe to use as a seal driver. All done from the outside.

Also if anyone has a case leak, just save yourself sometime and remove the complete rearend. It is alot easier to work on then fighting it in the frame. Just my opinion.
