46 Blower Questions

Ok. Found a shaft from a 47 blower that is supposedly the same. BUT this one was attached to the gear box with a spring pin and not a bolt. should it be a bolt on the 46 blower?

You can either use a spring pin or a bolt. All the pin or bolt does is keep the u-joint from coming off of the shaft.

A look at the parts diagram shows a spring pin on the 46 blower too, with safety wire through it.
