Just thought I would post a few pics of the extra lights I have added to my 4700 to better see at night. I have the 55 amp alternator, so there is plenty of juice to run them. The current draw is still well below what the stock fuses can handle for both circuits.

The (4) rear lights and ROPS mounted front lights (all JD 3" x 5") are tied into the "rear work light" circuit. The front Hobbs 5" x 7" grill guard lights are tied into the head light circuit so they will come on with the "road" position of the stock light switch.

Lets me see everything I need to while doing snow removal at night.

I want to make sure I get this correct--you placed four more lights onto the same wiring as the original stock JD rear lights?? I am curious since I would like to add a pair of ROPS lights and it would make it a lot simpler to wire them into the same wire as the original stock JD rear lights. Mike S.

Hi Steve, literally right around the corner from you, I know an excellent Unigraphics designer looking to cut his commute in half, what systems do you have and who are you customers?

I ran across some posting of yours at yahoo clubs JD site, and noticed your
local. Oh yeah and nice tractor.

MikeS,

The (4) rear facing and (2) ROPS lights are tied into the "work light" circuit that is separate from the tailight circuit. I will verify this in my manual tonight. The headlight circuit has a 30 amp fuse and the work light circuit has a 20 amp fuse.

rdln,

And who might this designer be??!!! My shop is actually down in Shelby Twp (23 Mile and Schoenner area) We are currently Tier 1 to Ford, GM, and soon to be DaimlerChrysler. We also do a lot of work for Fanuc Robotics. I actually might be looking for a UG designer as we are picking up more work for GM MidLux.

Send me off an email and we will talk. And thanks about the tractor. It and my 1997 Ford F350 CC 4x4 with Powerstroke are my diesel hobbies, I am also a member on the Ford-diesel website. I have a Garrett TA3101 turbo in my office just itching to be installed on the 4700 this summer....
