Dirt, thanks for the pictures. Were you able to tell if there was any damage to the part that the hinges pivot on, (the part that is welded to the cab frame)?
DQ, Thats an idea. If it takes more than a couple of days to get the hinges I might just do that.
Terry, the door didn't open against the welded part with enough force to damage the welded part of the hinge, just broke the cast center part of the hinge. I'd say thats the weakest part.
I don't think I'd swicth hinges around off the other door..........twice the chance of glass breakage if something goes wrong.
Sincerely, Dirt
Dirt, The hinges are ordered and should be here tomorrow morning. Deere is quite fond of them to the tune of around $70 each. The shock absorber is around $11.00.
Sounds like a nice project for Christmas Day although I am supposed to be celebrating peace on earth and good will toward men. It might be a bad day for me to curse like a sailor because the Deere engineers failed to integrate a door opening limiter into the cab design.

Just be glad you didnt bust the glass..... a stupid move on my rear wiper install cost me more then your hinges, so I'd say all in all your doing good.....
