I recently bought an x590 and decided to see how the 48" blade mounted on it before winter came. I ran into something unexpected though. The blade does not raise and lower evenly. I thought the blade lift height adjustment would take care of that but the best I can get is about an inch difference between the left and right edges of the blade. The manual specifies that I should set the adjustment when the blade is raised to maximum to roughly 5.5 in by adjusting the locknuts of the lift link arms. No matter how I adjust the locknuts I cannot get that adjustment even at each end of the blade. Also when you lower the blade you can easily see that it is not lowering evenly because one side will touch the ground before the other. If you stop it while lowering at the point when one side hits the ground you have a gap of at least 1/2" on the other side. You can continue lowering the blade of course and then both sides will be scraping the ground. Is that as good as it gets? I noticed that after removing the blade completely and putting a level across the top of the front bumper bracket that it is not level at this point which would probably explain things but there is not much play there to be able to adjust that bracket to make it level. (I already loosened the 4 bolts on either side of that bumper and was only able to shift just a slight bit) I suppose I could remove that bumper and try to re-drill the holes to try to improve that but I wonder if it will even matter when using that front blade? Anyone else notice if they have a similar issue with their x590 and front blade? Is this normal and I should just ignore it? The concrete pad where I am checking this is perfectly level and the tire inflation is perfect so that is not causing this. Any ideas as to something I might be overlooking?

I doubt you will find that the 1/2" difference will affect snow removal. Besides - after use you could find that it straighten itself out.

I use a HD Rhino 950 rear blade for clearing snow on my mile long gravel driveway.

In the raised position I can move either side of the blade 2 1/2 to 3 inches - up/down. Push down/pull up - that's the way the blade is built.

Once the blade is down - it clears snow just fine.

Pls show us some pics of the blade mount bracket and the location of the adjusting bolts. Also, how it connects to the frame of the X590.
Someone might see what the problem is that you are having.

Have you checked tire pressure fronts and rears for exact same for both right and left?

If like my X540 mount has very little if any side to side adjustment. X590 could be different

Tire pressure was the first thing I checked. Here are a few pictures showing the lift links on each side. Interestingly when I adjust the link on the right side it affects almost as much as the left locknut affects it. I wondered if the two bolts and nuts in pix 0274 that have are in a 1 inch slot would affect anything but I can't see that it would have any bearing on making the blade level from side to side. Oh and if anyone noticed the transport wheels for the blade still in place I did remove them when checking the way the blade went down. I think I'll just live with the way it works. I can get it so on level ground one side is only 1/2" different than the other and I think I can live with that. I was hoping that it really would adjust to be perfectly even but I don't see how. Since the links do not work to even it out perfectly side to side I don't see what will. You would just think that as much as JD charges for their stuff you could either get a better product or better support. Has anyone ever gotten a response from JD when you ask a technical question other than "talk to your dealer"?

Looks like Deere did change design from my X540. Your lift mechanism is significantly different.

NCAL in a different thread said he was trying to fit a blade off a JD 345 onto his X590, but didn't see how it could work. Am thinking he found out, but didn't come back on that thread to let us know what was done to "make" it work.

Looks to me the adjustment threads on the bail just need some die work to cut them longer (or some other fabricating) to level the blade... (which shouldn't really matter how it functions, just "look" better).

I was told by the dealer that the blade for the 345 would NOT work on the X590 so when he hauled it away he offered to take the blade and sell it for me. This blade is the blade that is sold to be used on an X590.
