48 inch mower deck spindle bearing

Hi.....The john Deere part number is JD M110024 for the 48 inch mower deck spindle bearing. Can anyone confirm that this is the same as a 6204 bearing.

From what I read on another forum,they are the same bearing. Is there a reason for not wanting to use the JD bearing?

Hi Greg.......Thanks for the info. I do not have any problems with John Deere parts. I already have some 6204 bearings on hand for spares for another mower deck and was wondering if I needed a different size.

Just FYI, my LT150 uses 6203 bearings on the deck. They are about $6 at JD, about the same as at an auto parts store. I found them for $1.95 at Texas Bearing. Another bearing dealer (can't remember the name) offered them to me for $1.75. I go through lots of them on my JD. Also, my deck has idler pulleys that use the same bearing. JD only services them as pulley assemblies costing about $12. So I drilled out the spot welds that hold the pulley halves together and put small bolts and nuts back in. Now I just unbolt the two halves and put a $2 bearing in that $12 pulley. The savings really add up fast!

I know this is an old post, but "search" found it, and I need some bearings for my 48 inch Case 446 Hydriv Deck. Is this the bearing numbers I need to oredr one?

I would think it would be coincidence if another make of deck used the same bearing but it could be. However, if you take out the old bearing it will have a part # on it that makes sense to a bearing dealer. Hope this helps.
