The rear track width on my 2320 is about 48". Can the 23 horse handle a 5' tiller or is a 4' better suited? Main use is garden tilling and lawn bed prep.

will it turn the 5' prob. I think the manual say not to go over 48'' for the tiller. I have the LP0550 on my B2320 and it does a great job doing what you have stated you want to do. Personally i would stay with the 48'' you will have plenty of power for it. The tiller makes short work of really hard ground clay in my case. Also do you have the FEL? if not you will want front weights. I made some for my B to keep its nose on the ground. With the weights installed the tractor will track straighter while tilling.

You should be fine with a 5' as long as you don't choose one that will overpower your tractor. Your ground speed will probably be more limited with a 5' but for garden tilling and use around the house, time isn't usually a big issue. There are many times when its better if it lasts longer! Sicma/Phoenix makes the T4 series that perform well when paired with small compact tractors because that's what they're designed for. They have 6 C-shaped tines per flange and come equipped with a slip clutch. We have those here on our website along with an informative video we made about them.
