Snow Blade 48" snow edge from Ratchet Rake

Well, I just received my 48" snow edge and i'm quite disappointed in the effort put forth by Ratchet Rake on prep and packaging for shipment.

Already it's scratched, missing paint, and the plastic edge is chipped - and I haven't even taken it out of the box!

What a disappointing start to this $330 purchase!

I just sent them an email and I'll let everyone know how they respond.

Give it some time, It's purpose is to drag on the ground. Use it for a few days in slushy conditions and it'll look good as new.

I can understand your beef if it is for parades or photography for sure or even a christmas (yep I said it) gift!! But don't most people jamb it to the ground and push?

Take it from someone who waxes their tractor and is real fussy on all equipment. This snow edge is like the bottom of your fel or the bottom of the cutting edge on a BB or a front snow plow, it will look much worst at the end of your snow season. Get some matching paint after season and it will be fine.

That looks better than most implements I have received. Would not be concerned at all. Slap it on and use it.

I know i sound like a PiTA and I understand it's going to get scratched and worn on the first few runs, that's not my point. I was surprised by the open shipping packaging, that's all.

Every attachment I have had shipped to me was strapped to a pallet, period. Most still arrived looking better than the ones at the dealers or stores. It is going to get beat up when you use it. As someone else said, get some touch up paint in the spring.

I got mine a couple weeks ago. It was packed like yours. What surprised me was it could easily have had a simple handle strapping so the delivery people would have better handling of it.

By the way . . . I've already repainted mine to a different color and it looks really nice in Massey red.

Still no snow or frozen ground in our area of Western WI . . but I'm ready when it comes now.

By the way . . the packing may not be heavy . . but the snowedge is built solid and heavier than expected. And the person who took my order was very pleasant and helpful.
