Backhoe 485 backhoe on a 5303

I have a 5303 WITH A 485 backhoe attachment. I like the hoe pretty well except for the boom powered to the full up position. There is nothing on the machine to cushion it fully up and it is impossible to come up without a crash of steel. Has anyone found a solution that works?
