well.. lets clear a few things up here.
1, the vreg. it has NOTHING to do with the ignition system. you can cut the wires to the vreg and throw it as far as you can out into the field.. and the tractor will still run.
2, oil pressure is directly related to engine rpm.. as the engine stalls.. oil pressure goes down to nothing.. that's physics, and normal.
3, carb starved of air? so you use choke? that's BACKWARDS.. choke FURTHER closes off air to the carb thus making it pull more fuel. if the carb was truly starved of air, like with a plugged breather, it would ALREADY be running like it was choked, and running rich. if you think it's starved of air.. slip the air clener tube off a bit. but if ADDING choke helps.. then it ain't starved of air.
4, governor.. it tries to maintain an rpm based upon load based on where you have the hand throttle set. it won't cause the machine to stall. can effect how it runs under load though.
you need to check spark at moment of stall. if you still have good blue spark at stall, then you need to address fuel issues.
