Grapple 4n1 bucket or grapple

Cactus…
must agree with you. I can not imagine how you could spring or warp a 4n1 bucket /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif… They are built MUCH stronger than any regular bucket.

I've worked mine VERY hard. I too can’t picture having any loader without a 4n1 /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif. KennyV.

John,

Awesome rig. I'd love to have that and go nuts on this property for a weekend.

As far a "dozing". I was just thinking about backfilling a trench or something simple and loose like that.

Mike,

Sounds like the most logical investment. I've had some recent communication with Andy. He will build pretty much anything I'd like. I want one about the size of yours in width and my hydraulics run at 3000 psi, so a different cylinder is required. He can handle it.

BTW....Andy doesn't build backhoe thumbs. That's too bad.

Jim it seems that I learned something here about 4 in 1 buckets that clearly I didn't know.

I don't think you'll be sorry for choosing a grapple though and Andy is your man. Please tell him for me that I couldn't be happier with mine.

I am surprised to hear that he doesn't build BH thumbs. If I had access to a CNC Plasma cutter like Andy does there would be no slowing me down on any project. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If I can be of further help please don't hesitate to shout or PM me.

I'm not concerned about the 110. I have a H.D. 72" "double edge" bucket with custom made H.D. T.B. on it now. It works great for my needs. It was the overall operating system of the 4in1 bucket I was talking about. At least that is what I was told was the reason a toothbar was not recommended. Stress on the pins, joints and cylinders?

However, after following this thread I see that this may not be that much of an issue. Ill probably get the bucket. (later on I'll negotiate with the CFO ona obtaining a grapple also.) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

4 in 1 with tooth bar is no problem. See attached photo of mine. And as for picking up long logs or trees, I've picked up 12" dia. 20' long trees no problem. What I like about the 4 in 1 is that it's always there and is extremely rugged. Like someone said, I can't imagine not having it.

Can the 4n1 be used with a quick attach?

I have the green 4n1 60inch. I remarked in another thread how I thought the grapple combo would be a better choice. I have got to eat some crow. I have around 240hrs on my rig now and the more I use the thing the better I like it. I recently loaded several trailers(6x10) full with log pieces. These were all sizes from 24inch to 16 ft. and diameters large and small. I use it to move and pile brush. Works well on stacking RR ties. Pulling fence posts is a snap as is ripping out pucker brush type stuff. Flipping the thing all the way up reveals a little dozer for back filling.
I think the bottom line is they both can do a very good job. If one takes the time to learn to use either, you will like it.
If I could get both hmmmm grapple.....divorce......better not.
