The tractor side of the mount is 5/8". Nothing moves when I pick the tractor up, but if I hook a stump and pull hard, I can get the tiniest bit of movement at the upper mount. So far as I can tell, it's because the 1/2" x 4" stiffener plates that go up to the FEL mounts are deflecting just a little. If I end up breaking them, I'll go up to 3/4" when I remake it, and extend the 3/4" thick part a little farther forward. That should stiffen everything up quite nicely. But I really doubt I'll ever manage to break it... :)
My mistake. Mine is 1/2" with 1/2" gussets running all the way forward up to where the upper mount, which is two...1/2" plates. It really looks like an I beam.

There is an eight bolt pattern on each side, with two upper and two lower. This way I can move my mount from the top holes, where it is now, to the lower holes, and lift the BH about 4" IIRC. All Bradco BH's share this pattern, or at least all the larger ones do... (509/511, 609/611, 3509, 3609, etc...) /QUOTE]
My 511 has only one set of 4 mounting holes. No up and down adjustment. Since it is the exact same frame for the 509, with the 511 having longer and larger dia. cylinders, I would say the 509 only has 4 holes also. I gather the 609 has more positions for skid steer height adjustment.

I was talking about the backhoe half. My tractor half is 1 inch think. Here are photos of my backhoe half with the gussets on top and bottom. Backhoe Subframe.jpgBackhoe Subframe Top View.jpg

I have a M6800 Kubota and at the time I wanted to go with a Bradco 609-611.But they said it was too much backhoe for the tractor and biggest for safety was to use a 511.I have also heard that the Bradco was best and strongest after market hoe out there. Good luck with the project. I am envious.

Just used it more this weekend for digging out stumps and putting in a culvert. The soil where the culvert went was saturated clay. REALLY easy to scoop out full heaping buckets, and the 609 handled them like foam peanuts... didn't even break a sweat...

Stumps are cedar, in clay soil too. It will chop through a 3-4" root without too much trouble, and pry them up with no issues once I figured out how to use the bucket as a lever by pushing down while I curl. I couldn't be happier with this setup! I can see that the 611 might be even better, just for the extra reach, and not having to re-position as often...

A M6800 should be a heavier tractor than my MF... I don't see the harm in running a 609/611 on it... ??
