4wd 5200 w540 loader

ok, i am considering a 1993 JD5200, it has 2100 hours on it, the front tires are worn a lot, its 4wd, and has a quick attach 540 loader with the bucket an the hay fork..he wants $13,000.
is this good or bad..the tractor looks almost like new..no leaks ..

Just looked up book value and without a loader it's $12,502 for fair condition and $14,838 in premium condition. Add at least $3k for the loader.

if he still has it, i am going to take off part of wednesday and go try it out..if its all he says, i'll probably buy it..i was concerned about 2000 hours..but who knows how many hours are on the 1020 i'm using now..

I don't think 2000 hours is too much as long as the maint. has been done. Those engines are usually good for around 5k before you should have to touch them. Considering that tractor with loader new is over twice that price it's not too bad of a deal.

The $13k appears to be a good value w/loader... even though the 5200 is only 40 PTO hp, with a few things like add-on oil cooler, possible radiator change?, and adjusting the injector pump... it goes to 50 PTO hp and runs all day long without a problem (a 5300)...

The current JD 5x01 Advantage series appears to use some of the original 5000 series components...

well, some folks "just like new" and mine aren't the same thing, I made the trip an looked at the tractor, the guy bought it a year ago from the original owner. he kept saying he didn't want to spend any more time on a tractor than he had to, so all he had done on it was feed hay and a little landscaping. he also didn't bother to check the water in the radiator, cause we couldn' see any and there was none in the overflow tank. the roll over had been cut an re-welded, all 4 tires were worn out. oh well, i shall continue to look, thanks for all the replies.
