IH656 - NH T2310 - Country Clipper 60" ZTR
I have a T2310. What is the trick to getting it in and out of 4wd. It's a struggle either way

If you have a loader, raise the front wheels off the ground and it goes in/out like greased lightnin'.:D

Otherwise, try driving straight ahead and bumping the throttle while applying pressure to the shift lever. The throttle bumping will momentary release pressure on the drive gears. Driving straight will assure no pressure from the differential.

Engage and disengage while moving straight. To disengage, 1st accelerate briefly full power - then let off quickly while simultaneously operating the lever.
