I have a L3710 i dont know what letters go behind the 3710 but it is a shuttle shift with the manuel 4 gears and a high and a low.The front tires quit pulling. The shifter seems to be working but when i shift into four wheel drive i hear a clicking sound when i start going, its not loud and seem to be from the front in the middle.I picked the front tires off the ground and spun them and it is not makeing any noise.Iwould love to see the driveshaft but it is fully enclosed in a tube and i really dont know where to start cause it looks like u have to take the whole tractor apart to get to it.Anybody kow where i can start looking for my problem?it was working when i last used it but my yougest boy used it after i did and he said he didnt hear anything when he used it last and if he would have he would have told me hes pretty good about it so we are stumped on what happened.

I can't help you with your model but someone with a smaller kub had broken a split pin that ties the front axle to the transmission. Here is what it looks like for an L2800... not sure if it will help you.

I'm some what surprised there haven't been more comments... maybe this would have had more people respond in the Parts/Repair section. I haven't seen too many people with a L3710...

You can ask for a diagram of your model here: (very good people to work with...)

I had something similar happen on my old Kubota, but it was a "B" series. One of those roll pins sheared. It was not too hard to fix, but the access to the part made it a little challenging.

I had to get the roll pin from a tractor shop; could not find the right size at ACE Hardware ect.

Mine was from mis-matched tires; I got new R4's for the rear, and was saving up for front tires; the existing turf tires were taller than the R4's. It caused stress on the drive train.

Diffferent size tires will deffinateley break everything in its path. Dad blew a transfer case on a plow truck a few yrs back , with mismatched tires.

On the L series tractors the front drive shaft has very strong internally splined couplings, they don't rely on roll pins for driving torque. The tube around the drive shaft telescopes together so you can see the couplings. There are snap rings to keep the couplings from sliding out of engagement. On my L355 one snap ring rusted and fell out of the groove allowing the coupling to work off at one end - then no drive. Easy fix - just slid the coupling back over the shaft and replaced the snap ring. As a temporary fix, a piece of fence wire twisted to stay in the groove will keep the coupling in place. Happy Holidays, Dick B
