Buying Advice 4WD Utility tractor buying tips

Onceacop has good advice- but then, he's been there, done that. I would start by reading for hours here, and looking at Tractorhouse and the classifieds here for used machines. Just to get an idea of what's out there, and price ranges, not with the expectation that you will be buying anything at this point.

You will need to match implements to whatever you get, and if you buy a good used machine, I wouldn't expect much interaction with a dealer. If it breaks down out on a woodland trail, you'll probably be the guy who first deals with it. I am assuming you can do fluid and filter changes yourself? I have bought and used three used Kubotas without any problems. I buy most of the maintenance items I need via the internet. You probably won't learn how to repair a hydraulic pump by reading on TbN, but just about anything else has been covered, and there are lots of members who will give advice when needed.
