4x4 went out when put on rear dif lock

I am starting to reassemble. I only ran into one problem. The housing that the drive bevel gear goes into has four gears. The two gears that hold the axles have washers that I got mixed up. One has been thinned so it looked bigger. I had to look in the book to see same part. So I got a replacement for the worn out one. But when I went back and looked at them I forgot this. And had to look around and then read about it. There is way to much going on this page. I love how the book calls it the adjusting nut. There really is no adjustment other then slide the sleeve in and lock it down to the housing.

I got 3 8 steal balls. And when they say $1.50 they mean each. I'm glad I got 3. Would not want to have everything stop just because of a set of balls.

When I'm done with this project. I really don't see how changing the clutch would be much more work. I took my MF 50 apart. Only good thing about this tractor is the metric. I really am no good at going from 1/2 up. But I can count by ones. I actually have to take everything out to 16 then back down.

I must put in a plug for Affordable Tractor Sales in Tx. They were great about the axle. And the cost was the same. They do good work. I might have to make a road trip to buy my next tractor from them.

I have the axle housing put back together and with that I have the axle sleeves screwed down. But How much clearance should the bearing have to turn. Should the sleeves hold firm or able to hand turn the main gear?

Now comes the scary part. I need to put the housing back on the tractor. I think that I'm going to suspend the front and lower it down to the housing. Have the housing near where it needs to go. Put the bolts in and lower it down on the housing to some cribbing. Then I can work on getting the axles back on.

Project is all done. Just need to get into a few nice days to get her rolling. I found putting the bearings in was the hardest. But I used a piece of scotch tape to just get them in place. I really could not think of another way to go. Rubber band would not work or I probably would leave part in.
