5\' finish mower assembly?

OK, Once and for all, how hard is it to put together a 5' First Choice Finish mower? I know we had a long discussion on this so I'm sorry to bring it back up. But on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being very, very easy and 10 being mechanically good and having a real hard time with it. I'm either going to do it myself or drive a long way and have it put in my truck then really struggle to get it out. thanks, brett w

Maybe someone can fire you a pic so you have something to go by.

I would say on a 1 - 10 scale, about a 2 - 4 at best. Easier than putting kids Christmas presents together on Christmas Eve. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: 5\' finish mower assembly?

hMM...Can't say.. but did put together a 5' rotary cutter in 2 hours, while still on the back of the trailer... was more of an ingenuity thing.... only had to do some prying once.. was otherwise fairly easy.. just steady solid 2 hours and some wrenches , a pipe for leverage, and a big socket set..... oh yeah.. and a pry bar.

I would imagine the finish mowers to be easier...

BrettW,

I put my First Choice finish mower (5 foot) together in about 1 hour tops including greasing, oil, etc. It would rate on a scale at about 2 at the most. It was very simple. Good luck - I'm sure you can do it. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: 5\' finish mower assembly?

I seem to recall the consensus of opinion being between one and two hours depending on your skill/comfort level and whether you're wrenching with open end wrenches or sockets and ratchets. It sounds like you shouldn't have any trouble with it. Good luck and post some pic's of your project. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks, doing it myself will sure give me a better understanding of how it works. I'll just have it dropped in the driveway, when the snow melts, about June here in Md. bw

Re: 6\' finish mower assembly and cost

I'm going to buy a 72" RFM and assemble it myself. Anyone recently bought one and can you offer how much you paid? Also, anyone have a first choice 72" RFM and are you happy with it?

Re: 6\' finish mower assembly and cost

Hello NHman,

I bought a First Choice RFM unassembled, it took a little over an hour to put together, but I wasn't working to hard at it either. I bought the 60", but I see the 72" is priced at 1129.00 not including the delivery. I paid 51.00 to have mine delivered.

Thanks for the response Kioti guy. So have you used the mower hard and does First Choice hold up?

ALso, how do you like your Kioti. I hear they are great machines?
