5 ft. tiller

This may be the wrong forum, but I'm looking for a good used or new 5' tiller that will hold up and be able to buy parts for if needed. Any suggestions?

king kutter from tsc. $1500. you won't need parts. At that price just buy an extra one:laughing:! They work awesome!

I bought a 5' Kodiak from the Equipment barn and am totally satisfied with it. It's built like a tank, and the transaction was very smooth.

I vote for the King Kutter also. I got a 72" several years ago from the local TSC and it has worked well for me. They are heavy and well built. I don't think you can find a gear drive tiller anywhere for that price. I use mine 10 hours a year getting my garden ready and then in the fall to till the residue under. If I was a pro landscaper I might went with a higher end tiller but for my use I like the KK just fine

Mine is a KK 72" and I LARGE GARDEN with it behind an IH 706 tractor at the rate of right at 100 hours per year!---still going after 6 years and bought from TSC

To the OP, around here... TSC sell 60" for $1,999 gear drive. That's nice... if you don't mind, what is the damage on what you have? Is it a gear drive and a 74"?

The YJR is there gear driven,mine is the YJC chain driven model and yeah tilling width is 74". I'll have to look what I paid dont remember but its made by "Ansung"...tractorhouse has a YJR 62" listed for $2195

Depending on region, TSC has CountyLine tillers that are made by either KingKutter or Tarter, with the 5 ft. version currently going for $1499. I bought a Tarter version in early 2011, and though I may have had some issues along the way, the equipment does the job & seems pretty well built. The down side to the Tarter version is that Tarter doesn't talk to consumers, only dealers. Since most dealers are not subject area experts, having them as the go between can be less than optimal at times.

finally pulled the trigger on a king kutter tiller,, the store was atwoods in texas, sulphur springs, they had them on sale and another store nearby in greenville tx said you could get the sale amount or the senior citizen discount. not both. the store in sulphur springs looked at it and said sure we will do both. couldn't pass it up and believe I have a good attachment. sometimes it pays to shop around. and this store will stand behind anything I've bought so far without question. and just to clarify, they were both the same named store atwoods. not comparing one name to another like tsc to atwoods.

hooked up and works good. seems to be the cheapest,best quality, and so far holds up good. think I got a good value for the price.

Hi everyone;
I have a older TSC 3 pt. tiller that now spins free in the gearbox. I suspect ( hope ) it is a shear pin . ANYONE know who / where the parts can be found. Even better some one who may have a clue what happened ? I don't mind tearing it down but I would like to get it back together before the growing season is over. I have 25 acres begging to be turned over. Thanks
