You can choose to pay more for the same product which gives you less to spend on other things. I would rather spend less for the exact same product and maybe buy something else.

I like Mad have no shame when it comes to saving money for identical items. The way I look at it WalMart is here to stay. Why? Because they do sell products for less. If that frosts you, you're welcome to shop wherever you like.

Confused!! My Father had a neighborhood (Mom & Pop) Grocery Store during WWII and for a few years after. Large Food Chain stores: A&P, etc. put him ouit of business. My uncle had a small Gas Station for several years and the large Gas Stations/Quick Marts put him out of business. I don't recall many if any Consumers trying to get these small businesses back so they could pay higher prices and have fewer choices. Competion is the American way, and the Consumer invariably wins - can't understand the hate for WalMart among so many in our Society.
I bought my Yellow Cans at Walmart and donated the savings.

Everyone likes to take a swipe at you when your on top, much easier to blame someone else if your business goes belly up. On the other hand, Wally sure is forcing a ton of American companies to outsource to China taking away alot of jobs here. There has to be a way to appease the consumer while keeping our own countrymen working?? Have you ever seen a Wally World shareholders meeting? It's like a Superbowl type event. They expect growth every quarter and they are quite good at delivering. Eventually they will step on their "tie" and stumble and someone else will be the target of all the controversy.

They make a thing call paint. I think the reds are cheaper than the yellows. I had some left over goldish paint (yellow enough for me). And painted the red jug with it. No it doesn't look pretty but I get the message and I don't keep it on the coffee table for display. :)

Someone mentioned slime forming in a yellow jug? Somebody needs more seat time!! :) In a metal can you just have to worry about rust I guess.

Interesting quote that you and others have continually stated. Does anyone have real facts to back this up? Define a ton. Maybe a few companies but that's probably it.

How do you keep American manufacturing jobs? Be French. No, I mean emulate the French. They are patriotic to the point of xenophonia, and they pay extra to buy French things, even if inferior quality or more expensive for the same quality.

We in North America have changed our philosophy from that of our parents/grandparents. We'd rather have lots of cheap stuff, vs 1 really good quality expensive thing. Until that changes, and we change our buying habits, Wally World will rule, and China will gain while the US flounders.

Have you ever walked around a Wal-Mart and looked at the point of origin of most of their merchandise? You will see Stanley Tools, Schwinn Bicycles GE compact refrigerators and lots of other well known "American" names. Look closely and see where they are manufactured. I mean you have to look because they have that "Made in China" tag creatively obscured. No real facts here, just astute observations. One fact, if Wal-Mart were a country they would be #7 on the list of importers from China. They recently opened a few stores in China, the Wally cultural liaison worked with the Chinese setting up their Deli's. You can buy a live turtle there, not a pet, we're talking dinner here.

Back to the yellow can issue.
Be careful what yellow "diesel" can you buy. I bought one from TSC a couple years back. 5 Gal, yellow, even said diesel on the side. All fine and good until I try to put a diesel fuel nozzle in the filler hole and it wont fit. The hole is to small for a diesel pump nozzle. A gas fuel nozzle fits fine, the diesel nozzle is just too big. Wanna buy it for cheap? Only used once.

Since I made the same mistake.....:D

There are diesel fuel nozzles meant for big rigs and ones meant for cars and trucks. The ones meant for cars and trucks fit in the yellow cans just fine.
