5' Toothbar

I just called Markham and got Mellisa to send me a 6 foot toothbar. I have been wanting to pull the trigger on one of these for a good while. Its gonna ship tomorrow! quick service. It should be here for the Memorial Day weekend with luck. Total cost: $374.00 Not bad and I've seen nothing but good on the Markham bar and quality.

Hi,

I pulled the trigger and ordered from Markham. Mellissa was great to deal with....hopefully the bar will arrive next week sometime and I will get a chance to play with it.

I hope you gave her your exact inside bucket dimensions and didn't subtract a little for clearance. This is because they automatically subtract a quarter inch from whatever dimension that you gave them.
I have a thread a couple years ago where I badmouth the JD toothbar. That thing is exactly the bucket inside dimension with no clearance allowance. With a little weld bump, you're having to use a sledge hammer to get it on and off. And you might want to take it off sometimes for backdragging.
Also the JD is about 126 pounds as I recall and the Markham is 75 pounds.
I wound up giving the JD away and buying a markham.

Hi Ragkar,

Yup gave her the exact inside dimensions and she indicated she was taking off 1/4> I also noticed the weld on the 1st two inches of the bucket lip.....an exact fit would be tight indeed.

Thanks again....I'll post how it fits and how it works....

Sorry it took so long to get back on my Markham toothbar. It took a bit longer to get it in. I installed it and have used it for some grubbing and a little digging. This thing is awesome. I think it will be very useful in the future. I love the extended teeth in front of the bucket. I can acutualy pick up logs and such now where I couldn't before.

Hi All,

I also received my toothbar (I'm out of town a lot for extended periods and it arrive while I was traveling). Excellant quality product....fit perfectly...and installation was a snap.

Digs well and helps lift larger items....so far I really like the addition.

I did notice that when dumping dirt (or other stuff) that the bucket will not completely empty (some small amount left as it cannot clear the "hump" that the toothbar has on the front lip.

Overall, I think it worth the investment!
