BRIGUY,
I'm not trying to be a smart a$$ here but what is all the fuss over using Super UDT. I have had 3 and still have 2 Kubotas and used regular UDT fluid in all of them with no problems whatsoever. This is all that my dealer sells. He told me the Super UDT is made for extreme cold climates and is a waste of money in our area (central PA). My tractors work fine and I'm going to continue to use the regular UDT fluid /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif.

kubotabilly,

You are not being wise at all.

By the way my wife just saw your dogs CUTE!

Any way the manual for my 2004 Specifies SUDT, and it was the factory fill on my machine. I don't know if that is BX-23 specific or not.

Dealer told me Kubota is insistent on SUDT for my machine.
I have heard of problems with some after market fluids.

I saw -20 here last winter Near Albany, NY. That is extreme cold to me. Heck I don't really like it below freezing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Brian,
I agree with using it it extreme cold climates. I just don't think it's necessary where I live. I guess I should've mentioned that both my bota's are in a heated building for those cold winter months. I do strongly believe in using Kubota brand oils and filters but I will still continue to use Kubota regular UDT fluid. Tell the wife that the 2 Labs are my neighbors and we dogsit for them /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. Their laying beside me as I type this reply /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

kubotabilly,
just curious did you see my attachment?

Your owners manual must be different than mine. Maybe it is a BX-23 thing. Backhoe maybe??

Brian,
Yea, I saw your manual, so I went to the shop and looked at mine. The BX2200 says the same as yours and the L3430 says it's ok to use the regular UDT or the Super UDT, either or /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I'm going to stick with what my dealer recommended, the regular Kubota UDT. Kubota probably recommended it because it is more expensive.

sorry I don't follow you??

You said there have been many posts about it and recomended against it. I however dont use it and even if I wanted to I would have to order it from my dealer. (BX 2230 only lists SUDT)
I dont feel it is necesary. I am anti SUDT /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
In fact my tractor has 6 gal of smurf oil (NH) waiting to be used. Why, because thats what the dealer puts in it. Our fluid is better blah blah blah. To me putting SUDT is like buying synthetic fluids to be a good American and saying NO to foreign oil. The only thing your doing is lining someone elses pocket at 3x the price.
If you want to use a specific brand fine, do I believe that companys lie to get you to buy their product, yes I do.
Not that I want to start a fluids or marketing debate, everyone has a choice, if you think something is necesary use it, be happy. To know that there are choices is more important. We all have to make choices its up to the idividual to decide whats right for them.

I could not of said it better, Steven. To each his own. I have no tractoring problems using Kubota regular UTD fluid in both of my botas'.

Look I didn't want to start a war use what ever you want.

I'm just going on what my manual said and what My buddy Who is a manager at a Kubota dealer told me. (He also gave me a good discount in my fluids) so money wasn't the object at least on the dealership level. Maybe it is a conspiricy on the Kubota corporate level.

I'm not trying to start yet annother UDT vs. SUDT war That has gone on here before.

I can remember a thread from last year about a guy who used some type of discount fluid in his BX and had issues.

If someone new asks a question I'll answer it by the book.

Bottom line is for 85$ he should be getting SUDT.
