It's time for the 50-hour service on my bx1500. Do I need to change my fuel filter also? And are there two fuel filters, one underneath and one in the engine compartment?

What does your manual state?

I would think replacing a fuel filter is mandatory at 50 hours.

I just did my 50 hr on my BX2230 and it's not listed then. Just from memory I thought it was somewhere like 200 hours? Check your manual to know for sure.

When it comes time to change the fuel filter aren’t there two filters? Do I need to change them both? I see the one fuel filter underneath but is the other one in the engine compartment and is it easy to get to?

I changed both fuel filters during the 50 hour service. The one under the tractor is easy to get to. I had to remove part of the hood to change the 2nd one. My dealer said to change the filters at the 50 hour mark and provided the filters when I purchased my BX23.
