I have used TBN in the past to help get cost "ideas" on various implements, repairs, etc. So it is high time that I contribute some pricing information for dissemination into TBN cyberspace.

I recently purchased the fluids and filters for my 50-hr service on my L3130 HST from my local dealer. The total cost was $224.12, all filters and fluids are Kubota branded.

An itemized cost breakdown for any or all filters and fluids purchased can be provided if anybody would like to know.

CampMan,

Here is the breakdown, I use UDT since I don't have really cold winters in Texas, you may have to use SUDT in NH. I called my local dealer and asked him to put together a 50-hr fluids and filter package and this is what I got:

Oil Filter.............$6.10
HST Filter...........$47.65 (ouch /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif)
Hyd Filter...........$32.00
Grease Tube......$2.58
Touch-Up Paint...$4.85
1gal 15w-40.......$9.90
2qts 15w-40.......$6.04
2.5gal UDT.........$24.00
10 gal UDT.........$91.00

Total...............$224.12

I sent mine to the dealer for the work to be done and they changed the engine oil and filter, HST filter, fuel filter but NOT the UDT. They claim it doesn't need to be done at this time. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I guess if the do all the service then that will be their problem......

What do yo think,,,,

Tough one. All I know is that the owners manual and this fancy laminated card (showing the bells and whistles of the Intellipanel system)I got with the L3130, shows 50 hr. fluid and filter change. It seemed as though they really emphasized the 50-hr change by making the symbols a "double" circle on the maintenance chart.

My dealer claimed that this is the most important of fluid change interval than any of the others. I guess this is a dealer thing. Since it is documented so well in the Kubota material that the 50-hour service includes replacing the Hydro fluid, I would get something in writing from the dealer saying that it was not changed and why. Even if you plan for them to do all of your service, things may change in the future. Heck, you could win the lottery and move to paradise!(translated Texas)

Paradise may not warranty your tractor if service intervals were not followed to the "T".

I would definately get it in writing on their letterhead!! The warranty could bite you if you do not. You never know what might go on a tractor. You don't want the company refusing warranty because the fluids weren't changed properly according to the manufacture. Just a thought. Remember.... "An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a POUND of CURE!!" Just my opinion on the matter.

Just finished my 50 hour change on L3130HST 4WD. Local Dealer's parts man said don't change oils. just filter - glad I took advice from the people here and drained all oils. Engine oil was black and thick, front end oil had much grey matter (metal filings ?)

My costs were:
- 3 Kubota filters ------------------------ $ 90.47
- 6 qts. Amsoil Syn 15W-40 DM -----------39.58
- 5 Gal. SUDT --------------------------- 68.75
- 3/2.5 Ga. SUDT ----------------------- 109.41
- freight --------------------------------- 51.17
- Brewskis (No charge - my son) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif-- 0
- Oil damaged blacktop ---------- /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif-- ?
Total ----------------------------------- $359.38
UDT for front end (On hand)

I'm not sure on the below filters and cost that you sent to me. The other items and cost were in-lineare about of the same cost.
The dealer seems to be rather high and I'm not sure why the two filters. There is a wire screen filter in the hydraulic line which only needs to be cleaned out, rather then to be replaced; however. the replacement cost is only $ 11-13

HST Filter...........$47.65 (ouch )
Hyd Filter...........$32.00

My Engine Filter cost was ....... $7.60
My Transmission Filter (Hydraulic Fluid) cost was ....$8.80

The L3130 HST uses two hydro filters, one for the tractor hydraulics and one for the HST. I do not know alot about the 7510, but from other threads on this forum, I think in lieu of the filters the 7510 has a hydraulic screen like you mentioned. From penokee's post above, it looks like the cost of my filters were right in line with his.

Have you tried www.tractorsmart.com? you can order all your filters there easy site to navigate. Give you a chance to compair anyway. Also if there is a Sam's club near by they have some Hydro fluid that is rated as the same as Kubota UTD. I can not remember the name - but there is a thread here from not to long ago that talks about that. If I remember the Hydro fluid was $35.00 for a 5 Gallon bucket.
They also have Rotella Oil the cheapest I seen in a box with 6 one gallon jugs.
Hope this helps.
