Performed my first service today on my TC45 and everything went as planned. I do have a couple of questions for you guys who have turned a wrench on these Boomers more than once.
1. The manual says the tractor holds 6.3 quarts of motor oil with a filter change. I put 6 quarts in, started it for 3-4 minutes and when I checked the oil level, it was a half inch above the full mark.. Should I drain some?
2.Manual says to grease the power steering cylinder. Do you have to remove any covers to do that.
3.Where is the pivot shaft? Need to grease it too.

Thanks in advance guys for any help!!

I would drain the oil down to the full mark. Every 40 or 45 I have serviced has needed 6 quarts or a touch more to fill; did you drain it completely?
The power steering cylinder is mounted on the front axle and has a zerk fitting on each mount pin boss (2).
The pivot shaft I assume is the pedal cross shaft. There is a zerk on the clutch pedal pivot (you said 45, no'D'), one on the right brake pedal pivot, and one on the support tube under the center of the tractor.

I drained it completely by removing both drain bolts on the oil pan and I changed the oil filter. It doesnt make sense to me how 6 quarts could have over filled it. I think I got all the zerk fittings now that you explained where they are. Thanks for your help....
